What everyone should know about sharks is designed to give you the most important and useful information on shark language and what to do to avoid, deter, or interact with sharks. A practical guide for any ocean goer should you encounter a shark or wish to increase or decrease your chances of such and experience. There is so much more to sharks than meets the eye and we are only beginning to understand them. I hope this book will help others to understand them on a deeper level and I know that the information provided in the series I’ve written can help save human lives. I hope with a deeper understanding people might also begin to appreciate, care, and my deepest hope is that they might even be inspired enough to join me in efforts to help save the lives of sharks who are currently being slaughtered by the millions.
Ocean Ramsey and Juan Oliphant founded One Ocean Organization and especially One Ocean Diving as an immersive conservation program and supportive research platform. Come dive with Ocean, Juan, or the team of biologists they personally trained to learn more about sharks, apply Oceans research in ethology and learn the best, most respectful, and safest possible way to coexist with sharks. The program covers conservation concerns and helps to fund the ongoing research and data collection that is explained by Ocean or the other biologists on the trip, you can even help with the photo identification project by contributing photos from the dive. The best part is this program allows Ocean, Juan, and the other shark scientists and safety divers to literally help save sharks that are entangled in fishing line, net, plastics, and also help remove plastic and marine debris from the ocean.
This is the end-all, be-all digital course for shark behavior and safety. World renowned researcher and conservationist Ocean Ramsey explains critical information to minimize the potential for adverse shark encounters and maximize appreciation of sharks in her exclusive online course spanning 19 video lessons. Learn about shark personalities, shark language, and practical tips to keep safe if you encounter a shark - and what to do in the highly unlikely scenario that a shark bites you.
