About Saving Jaws
Follow Ocean Ramsey, renowned marine biologist, and Juan Oliphant, award-winning underwater wildlife photographer, on their journey to combat the negative media associated with sharks. Watch them travel the world to uncover the reality of shark behavior and speak out for sharks’ well-being. With the majority of media coverage focusing on the small percentage of negative shark encounters, this team will attempt to change the narrative on sharks for the better. Perception is everything and Saving Jaws has the goal of turning media coverage on sharks in a positive direction.
Please keep an eye out for the release of Saving Jaws this year!
Directed by @KeoniShoots Brando Keoni Bowthorpe
Ocean has done numerous stunts for leading actresses for films and TV shows in Hawaii since 2009 "Into the blue."
She has also been a featured actress on Hawaii 5-0 episode 7.15 "Different Points of View" Ocean Ramsey acted as a character named "Lily O'neil," a shark conservationist, who was based on Ocean's real life and featured her diving off her One Ocean boat with sharks off her home on the North shore of O'ahu. The character she plays "Lily O'niel," is however accused of killing someone who had threatened to kill sharks.
In this unique documentary concept, the director has selected these women, ranging from the ages of fourteen to seventy, in order to create a mosaic portrait of what could be, in the end, a metaphor for one woman’s ocean life through all her ages at once.
Starting with a little girl who engages in the thrill of surfing with ambitions to become a world champion, to a woman who has drawn from the inspiration of the Ocean to become a deliverer of life, to a woman who plunges into the deepest depths on the edge of human survival on a single breath, to a woman who tows into giant surf behind a speeding jet-ski, to a woman who finds solace in plunging into the ocean from cliffs over 130 feet high.
By employing this age specific technique, the director is able to capture these women’s voices from childhood to seniority. The common thread how the ocean has molded their lives and given them meaning beyond the normal constraints of society.
An inspiring global team of shark experts and conservationists, dominated by strong, smart and independent women, join forces and follow a migratory route of the Great White sharks.
Australia is running the longest marine cull in history. It’s putting you at risk. This documentary will expose it in graphic detail. Narrated by Eric Bana.
Ocean Ramsey and a team of shark experts, freedivers, scientists and conservationists highlight the beauty, importance, and diversity of the Galapagos islands and strive to inspire conservation.
Ocean and Juan are currently working on a youtube series and interested in working with professional producers for a larger platform. Serious inquiries only as they get a lot of production inquiries. Juan is also a professional videographer.
